چکیده
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors associated with symptomatic neurologic complications in solitary pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs). Patient data were obtained from 14 institutions. Data 207 patients (28 men, 179 women; median age, 65 years; age range, 9–94 years) who diagnosed a PAVM by CT between 2004 and 2020 analyzed. Of these, 104 underwent treatment 103 observed. follow-up period 22.5 months (range, 0–180 months). Thirty-six had (neurologic group; ischemic stroke, n = 34; brain abscess, 2). remaining 171 no symptoms (control group). Medical records images reviewed, relationships following compared groups: sex, location (left lung vs. right lung, upper or middle lobe lower lobe, distal site proximal site), type (simple complex), size feeding artery, sac, sac-to-feeding artery ratio, shape (single saccular multi-saccular). There difference two groups terms PAVM, PAVM. Median 3.9 mm 2.0–23.0 mm) 3.0 0.9–9.3 control groups, respectively (P 0.005). sac 9.9 3.5–25.7 6.5 1.7–39.3 < 0.0001). ratio 2.5 0.2–4.4) 2.0 1.0–5.9) 0.015). significant association multi-saccular 0.0023). متن کاملSymptomatic pulmonary complications from liquid acrylate embolization of brain arteriovenous malformations.
PURPOSE To describe symptomatic pulmonary emboli from brain arteriovenous malformation embolization with liquid acrylates and to analyze the reasons for these complications and describe preventive techniques. METHODS The clinical records of 182 patients embolized with acrylate glue since 1978 for treatment of brain AVMs were searched for evidence of symptomatic pulmonary complications. Origin...
متن کاملPulmonary arteriovenous malformations associated with migraine with aura.
Migraine with aura (MA) is associated with cardiac right-to-left shunt. We prospectively studied the association between pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) and MA in hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). All 220 consecutive HHT patients who underwent high-resolution chest computed tomography for PAVM screening were included prospectively. Prior to screening, a structured vali...

HKJGOM 2011; 11 (1) 67 Introduction Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) are rare vascular disorders known to produce life-threatening complications, including haemoptysis, intrapleural haemorrhage, stroke, brain abscess, and hypoxaemia. Since its first description by Churton in 18971, more than 500 cases have been reported in the literature2. Pregnancy and PAVM are strongly linked wit...
متن کاملMultiple symptomatic cerebral arteriovenous malformations in a patient with HIV.
This brief case report describes an unusual presumed association of chronic HIV infection with multiple cerebral arteriovenous malformations. An adult male patient presented with recurrent spontaneous brain intracranial hemorrhages and neurologic deficits requiring surgical evacuation. The diagnosis was delayed because of lack of a high index of suspicion of this unexpected and previously unrec...
